Writing blogs is a popular way of communicating with others these days. Everyone has their story to tell. So, through different internet platforms, bloggers communicate with a large group of people. Blogging has become successful because we can express our opinions and talk about any topic, even about every small activity that took place around the globe. From minor subjects like waking up, to major issues like climate change, global warming, etc.
As a blogger you should work on topics that you love and your strategy should be about building as much audience as you can. This won’t be achieved if you’ll only talk about yourself, you’ll have to choose subjects which are relevant and which are in demand these days.
So, I have decided to dedicate this blog to all the beginner bloggers and have listed Some of the basic things a blogger should keep in mind before getting into blogging as a hobby or profession.
CHOOSE A SUBJECT TO WRITE ON AND STICK WITH IT
Work on the goals you’ve set for your blog, stick with your subject, and pay attention to whether you’re providing some new and informative content. It’s okay to do some research about the topic you’re going to cover but do not plagiarize others’ work.
TRY TO MAKE YOUR CONTENT “SEO-FRIENDLY”
SEO or “search engine optimization” works on algorithms to increase traffic on a website through search engine results. So, you have to make your blog SEO friendly to gain traffic. You can do it by including the hashtags in your blog’s description, by using popular keywords related to your subject in the title and body of your blog.
BE AN EXPERT RATHER THAN AN ALL-ROUNDER
It’s not necessary to write about every topic you came across. You can stick to a few topics, in which you can prove your expertise and can gain trustworthiness. This is particularly for bloggers who deal in subjects like money, health issues, etc, but applies to all subjects to a lesser degree. So, do not try to be an “all-rounder expert” and try to focus on the quality, not quantity.
UTILIZE YOUR SOCIAL NETWORKS
You can add a “share” option with your blog so that your audience can share your blog with others. You can also mention your social handles so that the audience can interact with you. Building up connections on Social platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, Reddit, etc, could be useful to boost the reach of your blogs.
MAKE YOUR BLOG MOBILE FRIENDLY
More than half of web searches are done from mobile devices these days. If your blog doesn’t work well on mobile or takes too much time to load, that can cost you a lot of potential visitors. Keeping this in mind, try to make your blog compatible with mobile devices too.
ADD RELATED PICTURES ALONG WITH THE CONTENT
Try to add pictures in your blog as it looks more presentable and sometimes helps the audience to get a hint before reading it. Only reading written content often proved to be boring, but having pictures in the blog helps the reader to relate.
BE CONSISTENT AND DON’T GIVE UP
Everything needs time and success doesn’t come overnight. You need to be patient if you want a large audience. Just keep posting quality content and you’ll achieve your goal eventually. It takes time to get noticed, and build trust among people, who knows which one of your work went viral!! just never give up!
At Mitti Ke Rang, we started with a COVID-19 community support fundraising, as an emergency response to provide a safety net to families. This will help them survive in the lockdown period. We aim to directly support these families by providing a minimum wage, through transferring the same into their accounts or partner with local NGO, Organisation, Fellow, or a Volunteer and support them with groceries.
